The Man, The Myth, The Big Brother

Soulmate: a close friend who completely understands you

THIS ⬆️ has always been my understanding of a soulmate and, unconventionally, it's always lead me to one person: my big brother, Jeremy.
Even though we always endured the typical brother/sister fights, Jeremy has been one of the most steadfast parts of my life. In elementary school, he stepped in when anyone dared pick on me. In high school, he made sure his friends knew to look out for me, especially around boys, or give me a ride home if I needed one.

He might not know it (until now), but I envy his hubris. He left a long-standing job to run his dream comic store full-time...

...while expecting a baby with his awesome wife Jen. This is Jen:
She's jumped feet-first into the world of entrepreneurial store-ownership because, she's wise enough to realize, he's quite the catch. And thank the good Lord, he finally wrangled himself a beautiful, smart, and quirky woman who appreciates what an amazing human being he is.

Despite being terrified of little kids, he dove straight into being an awesome uncle to my girl...
...which turned out to be practice for his own perfect little one, Ollie.
My life, much like anyone's, has never been easy. But who else is SO DAMN LUCKY to have someone who laughs...
...and educates (in various fashions!)...
...and revels in the simple yet monumental experiences in life...
By being the most original and authentic person I could imagine?

According to my husband, my students, and pretty much anyone I've ever met, I'm not "normal." And thank God for that, because neither is Jeremy, and he's shown me that there is nothing better to be than exactly who you are.
